John Clayton Mayer is a famous American musician. He was born on 16th October, 1977. He belongs to Connecticut and took his music lessons from Berklee College of Music and then shifted to Atlanta in 1977. Two of his early studio albums Heavier Things and Room for Square did very well commercially. He had won himself the Best Male Pop Vocal Performance Grammy Award in 2003 for “Your Body Is a Wonderland”.
Creative and smart, Mayer has got himself tattooed uniquely. The one that is visible is the elaborate Japanese Tattoo all over his left hand. It stretches from his left shoulder tip and covers the entire left hand. It has delicate images of flowers, koi fish and samurai warriors. Most of these motifs are based on the Japanese concept of yin and yan and aims to enhance the positivity.
Another one is visible only when Mayer gets shirtless. It’s a number tattoo placed on the left side of his chest, with the number “77” written in a stylised script pattern that steals attention. The number 7 is considered to be a number that brings forth divination, mysticism, healing and complete transformation. Perhaps, the singer has catered to his metaphysical side by getting that number inscribed on his chest.
