He was born on 18th October 1987 in San Luis Obispo, California, United States. His father David Efron was an electrical engineer and her mother Starla Baskett, a secretary. He came to the spotlight after acting in High School Musical which was Original Disney Channel Movie, the WB series Summerland and Hairspray. He has also acted in the films like 17 Again, Me and Orsonn Welles, That Awkward Moment, New Year’s Eve, etc. He was encouraged to become an actor by his father from the age of eleven. In his high school days he performed in a couple of theatres and started taking singing lessons.
