Gillian Anderson was born in the year 1968 on August 9th in Chicago, Illinois of United States of America. Even though she started her career in the year 1986, she always loved acting even from a very young age which made take up acting in high school only. First, she went to Cornell University of Ithaca and then she joined DePaul University of Chicago. In both of these universities she studied theater and acting. She became a household name when she was cast as Dana Scully in the cult favorite “The X Files”.
Gillian’s first tattoo was done in inner right ankle and she got her tattoo done in Tahiti which is known as the birthplace of tattoo and of course tattooing. With a measurement of one inch wide and two inch in length, her ankle tattoo is of tribal design. The process tattooing of this very tattoo was an experience which she will never forget. This is because; the equipment with which the tattoo was done was made of electric razor, shish kebab sticks, sewing needle, ballpoint pen casing and it ran with the help of a battery pack. She found tattooing very painful and even compared it with the pain of drilling which is experienced in a dentist office. Even though before she was thinking of not doing another tattoo but later on she decided to do it again. Gillian Anderson’s second tattoo is a Sanskrit symbol tattooed on her wrist of right hand which means “everyday” in English.
