Irving has two tattoos on his body. The maple leaf tattoo left shoulder is quite popular due to its significance. He had this tattoo made so as to commemorate his marriage with his second wife Janet Turnbull – Irving, a prominent literary agent from Toronto. He also has a second tattoo on his body that is a tribute to his favorite sport, wrestling. However, this one is not as popular as the first one.
The maple leaf in general signifies the Canadian pride and love. It represents Canada, which is the reason why Irving’s left shoulder is often referred to as Canadian despite him, himself being from an American origin.
