Whitmore was born on 4th May 1985 in Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland. She studied in Durbin City University where she took up the course of journalism. Laura Whitmore won a contest held by MTV Networks Europe called Pick Me MTV. After winning this contest she went on becoming the face of MTV News in MTV Europe. After winning Pick ME MTV, she has been seen hosting news bulletins especially for Ireland and UK. She went on hosting quite a number of shows in MTV, RTE, ITV and BCC. In 2009 she even launched a range of clothing which was available at A Wear.
Laura has a fetish for tattoos as well. She has inked two of them in two different parts of her body. One of them is An t-Adh Tattoo which is on the top of her left foot. An t-Adh is the Irish for Luck. Another one is Heart Tattoo in her left wrist, where a treble clef and a bass clef have together formed a heart. Heart Tattoo has one obvious meaning which is Love. Apart from that it also represents human soul. In different religion like Christianity and Islam, heart has a mystical importance as well. There are different types of hearts like, flaming hearts, sacred hearts, hearts with arrows, broken hearts, etc.
