The Seattle-based singer, song writer and spoken words artist, Mary Danielle Lambert is also a gay rights activist. Born on May 3rd, 1989, the artist has had a tumultuous childhood. She was sexually abused as a child and her family was expelled from the church when she was 6 years old because her mother came out as a lesbian. Mary herself came out as a lesbian when she was 17.
As an escape from her traumatic experiences, Lambert took refuge in music and taught herself to play piano and write songs at an early age of 6. She is the singer and songwriter of the gay right’s single ‘Same love’ in which she has poured in her own experiences!
The beautiful singer has an arm tattoo covering all of her upper left arm. The tattoo is made up of colorful images of flowers and leaves. Rhododendrons are state flowers of Washington and the tattoo represents a garden for Lambert’s grandmother! She got this tattoo in 2013 and it was apparently a cover up for two smaller tattoos.
On the inside of her right wrist, Mary has a writing tattoo which is evidently very close to her heart and reads ‘Music saved my soul’!
