Mel B also known as Melannie Janine Brown was born on 29 May 1975 to Andrea and Martin Brown in Harehills, Leeds. She was raised in Burley, West Yorkshire and went to Intake High School, in Leeds to study performing arts before being a part of the entertainment industry. She is a British national and has donned many hats successfully. She gained popularity for the first time as a member of the all-girl band Spice Girls. She was named Scary Spice. The group attained unprecedented fame with their debut song “Wannabe” in 1996 which was recorded by Virgin Records. Her solo “I Want You Back” with Missy Elliott on Virgin Records and hit the number one rank in the Singles Chart of UK.  Later she delivered many successful albums until 2000 after which she ventured into other fields.
